What a Sintra Tour Costs, and What the Price Includes
Almost every guided full day from Lisbon covers the same ground: Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira or the Moorish Castle, the old town of Sintra, Cabo da Roca and the coast road back past Cascais. The price changes with the size of the group, whether you are collected from your hotel, and whether the palace tickets are in the price. All of the prices on this page are per person unless a tour is priced per vehicle, and every tour here can be cancelled free of charge ahead of time.
- A good all-round choice: the Inside Lisbon small-group tour, from $55, rated 4.8/5 from more than 3,200 reviews. Pena Palace and park entry is included in that price, which is rare at this level.
- The cheapest well-reviewed days cost about $21 to $30. These are large-group coach and minibus days, and their from-price is usually the option without palace tickets.
- Palace entry adds about $22 per palace. Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira are both €20 for an adult, so a $27 coach day becomes about $71 once both are added.
- Paying $50 to $80 mostly gets you a smaller group. A van of up to eight replaces a full coach, and some tours add hotel pickup. The palaces and the coast are the same.
- For three or more people, a private tour priced per vehicle can cost less per head than one priced per person. One driver-guide tour is $342 for up to three people, about $114 each.
- Lunch is extra on almost every tour, and coach passengers on the most-reviewed tour now pay a local bus fare in Sintra as well.
The Sintra Tours We'd Compare First
We'd start with the first. The others suit a particular budget, group or amount of time.
Sintra, Cascais & Pena Palace Small Group Tour
Take a $27 coach day and add a Pena ticket and you reach about $49. For $6 more, this Inside Lisbon tour gives you the same palace in a small group, with the ticket already arranged, and it has one of the longest review histories of any small-group Sintra tour.
Its listing includes admission to Pena Park and Pena Palace, time to walk around Sintra on your own, Cabo da Roca and a walk along the bay in Cascais. It suits you if Pena is the palace you most want to see. Quinta da Regaleira is not in its highlights, and the tour starts from a meeting point in Lisbon, with no hotel pickup.
Lunch is not included.
If you want the lowest price
Odyssey Tours' Sintra, Pena, Regaleira and Cascais day is rated 4.8/5 from more than 11,700 reviews, and its listing includes free time in Cascais. Palace tickets come with the ticket options. Buendía's day tour costs the same $27 and has the longest review history of all, with more than 24,000 reviews at 4.7, but it shows you Cascais from the bus.
If you'd like to be collected from your hotel
Moovearound's minivan tour includes pickup and drop-off and keeps the group to eight or fewer. It is rated 4.9/5 from 176 reviews, a shorter record than the tours above. For a longer review history, the Lisbon Native tour collects you from central Lisbon from $65, with more than 5,800 reviews at 4.7.
If you only have half a day
Ó Turista!'s half-day tour includes the Pena Palace and park ticket in its price, rated 4.9/5 from 256 reviews. Half-day tours that look cheaper usually add the tickets on the day: Amazing Discovery's $84 pickup tour collects €20 for Pena in cash, which takes it to about $106.
If there are three of you
Lisbonbylocals' private coast tour is priced for the vehicle, with a driver-guide, fuel and tolls included, and is rated 4.9/5 from 100 reviews. Split three ways it comes to about $114 each. On your own or as a couple, a tour priced per person works out cheaper.
Both palaces with tickets included
Vagabonding Lisboa's small-group day includes the Quinta da Regaleira ticket and the Pena park and terraces ticket, with a guide at both. The Pena ticket covers the outside of the palace and the park, without the rooms inside. It has 49 reviews at 5.0, so it has a shorter track record than the larger tours.
What Do You Pay on Top of the Tour Price?
Palace entry, lunch and, on some coach tours, a local bus fare. Entry is the one that changes the comparison between tours.
- Pena Palace: €20 (about $22) for an adult ticket to the palace and park, or €12 (about $13) for the park and terraces only. A shuttle from the park gate to the palace is €4.50 return.
- Quinta da Regaleira: €20 (about $22) for an adult.
- Lunch: extra on almost every tour, normally eaten in Sintra's old town during free time.
- The Sintra bus: €4.55 (about $5) for a single. Since late July 2026, large coaches can no longer drive into Sintra town, and on buendía's coach tour passengers change to a municipal bus for the last stretch and pay the fare themselves. Our guide to that tour explains how it works on the day.
Most tours with ticket options sell entry as part of the booking, and the option list shows the exact price for your date. If you add both palaces at the official adult price instead, the $27 Odyssey day comes to about $71 per person. That is why the from-price alone is a poor guide: Stas Tours' half-day starts at $88, but its listing puts the Regaleira ticket at €20 and the Pena terraces at €10, which takes it to about $121. The Ó Turista! half-day at $95 already includes a full Pena ticket.
At the starting price, two people pay $54 on the Odyssey day and four people pay $108. With both palaces added at the adult price, that becomes $142 and $284. The Inside Lisbon small-group tour, with Pena included, is $110 for two people and $220 for four. Child prices differ, so check the booking page if you are travelling with children.
The adult ticket prices are from Parques de Sintra and Quinta da Regaleira. Dollar figures use the European Central Bank rate on 2 October 2026, €1 = $1.1225, and are approximate. Our Pena Palace tickets guide explains the ticket types and timed entry.
If you are planning more days around Lisbon, these tours cover Sintra, Cascais and the rest of the region.
What Do Shared Day Trips to Sintra Cost?
About $21 to $30 per person for a large group, and about $50 to $80 for a group of up to eight. The difference is mostly the size of the group and how you are collected, and the day itself changes much less than the price does.
Around $21 to $30: large-group days. A coach or minibus from a central meeting point in Lisbon and the full loop of Sintra, Cabo da Roca and the coast. The from-price is usually the option without palace tickets. The Odyssey Tours day is the one we'd look at first here.
Around $50 to $80: groups of up to eight. A van instead of a coach, a guide who can talk to the whole group at once, and on some tours pickup from your hotel. Tickets are still extra on most of them. The Inside Lisbon tour is the exception, with Pena entry included at $55.
Above about $80: specific extras. Both palace tickets included, wine tastings, an e-bike or a private vehicle. These are covered further down.
Within the cheapest range the tours are hard to tell apart. They run much the same route, so the review record is a better way to choose than a dollar or two of price. Buendía's coach tour has the longest review history of them, with more than 24,000 reviews.
Prices checked 2 October 2026 on GetYourGuide, per person, for the cheapest option on sale. Operators change their prices with the date and the option, so check the booking page for the current price. Every tour in these tables is linked, with its rating and number of reviews beside it; a short review record is a reason to look more closely before you book.

What Does a Half-Day Sintra Tour Cost?
Most shared half-days from Lisbon cost about $68 to $95 for four to six hours. Most run in small groups, some collect you from your hotel, and you see one or two palaces and less of the coast than on a full day.
The cheapest guided option is buendía's half-day by train, from $46 with the Quinta da Regaleira ticket included, rated 4.9/5 from 34 reviews. You travel on the regular train and pay the fare yourself.
| Tour (rating · reviews) | From price | Length | What the from-price includes |

What Does a Private Sintra Tour Cost?
About $128 to $140 per person for the best-reviewed private days, or from about $342 per vehicle when the tour is priced for the whole group. You get a car or van to yourselves, a driver who is also your guide on most of them, pickup from your hotel and, on several, a flexible itinerary. The palaces cost the same entry as on any other tour, and most private tours leave the tickets out of the price.
The way the price is quoted matters more than the price itself. On a per-person tour such as TourExplora's private day, from $140, two people pay $280 and three pay $420. Lisbonbylocals' coast tour is $342 for up to three, so for three people it is the cheaper of the two. Autêntica's private tour is priced for up to seven at $505, which is about $72 each for a group of seven.
Some private tours come with a driver who does not guide. The cheapest per-vehicle tour here, NA Transports' customisable tour at $224, lists an interpreter guide as not included, and it is rated 4.5/5 from 305 reviews, the lowest rating of the private tours here.

E-Bike, Wine and Hiking Tours to Sintra
These cost more than a shared coach day because the activity is part of what you pay for. They are best compared with each other.
- Living Tours' Sintra winery tour, from $84, rated 4.9/5 from 203 reviews: a group of up to eight, a tasting of three regional wines, and Pena's park and terraces with entry included.
- Lisboa Autêntica's e-bike day, from $89, rated 4.9/5 from 416 reviews: you cycle from Sintra to Cascais, with the train tickets out and back included. Palace entry is extra.
- World Experience's hiking tour, from $168, rated 4.7/5 from 216 reviews: a walk through the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park with Pena's exteriors and Cabo da Roca.
- World Experience's 4WD day, from $224, rated 4.8/5 from 31 reviews: Pena's park and Cabo da Roca by four-wheel drive, with the Pena park ticket included.
Is It Worth Paying More for a Sintra Tour?
Pay more if a full coach would spoil the day for you, or if you want to be collected from your hotel. Don't pay more expecting different palaces or better views, because those are the same at every price. If the budget is tight, the money goes further on entry tickets for the palaces you want to go inside.
Sintra Tour Prices: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Sintra tour from Lisbon cost?
Shared full-day tours with a large review history start from about $21 to $30 per person. Small-group tours of up to eight people mostly cost from $50 to $80, and private tours start from about $128 per person. Most from-prices leave out palace entry, which adds about $22 per palace.
Are Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira tickets included in the tour price?
On most tours, no. The from-price is usually the option without tickets, and the ticket options cost more. A few tours include an entry in the starting price, such as the Inside Lisbon small-group tour, which includes Pena Palace and park entry from $55.
How much are Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira tickets?
Pena Palace is €20 (about $22) for an adult palace and park ticket, or €12 (about $13) for the park only. Quinta da Regaleira is €20 (about $22) for an adult. These are the official adult prices for 2026.
Is a small-group Sintra tour worth paying more for?
It is if group size matters to you. Paying $50 to $80 instead of about $27 mostly gets you a van of up to eight people instead of a full coach, and on some tours hotel pickup. The palaces and the coast are the same on both.
How much does a private Sintra tour from Lisbon cost?
Tours priced per person start from about $128 each. Tours priced per vehicle start from about $342 for up to three people with a driver-guide, which is about $114 each for three. For three or more, a per-vehicle price usually works out cheaper.
What else do you pay for on the day?
Lunch is extra on almost every tour. Palace tickets are extra unless your option includes them. Since late July 2026, large coaches cannot drive into Sintra town, and on the most-reviewed coach tour passengers pay the local bus fare of €4.55 (about $5) themselves.
